Competition drives accessible web

Nokia is driving forward a new technology, an advancement to 3G, called 4G (top marks for originality).

This is a direct competitor to Intel’s WiMax. Both technologies provide wireless network access, but with larger coverage and reliability than current services.

Founder of the web leads new era

CERN, the leader in the implementation of the principles of the Internet have announced the next stage in the era of web technology.

The Grid as the internet may be renamed to, will work on the same principles of the current Internet.
But The Grid will link all the computers in the world, with high speed fibre optic cables.
Each terminal will provide processing power for the entire network, meaning that if Joe Blogs is not using his computer you will have all your processing power and his will be shared among you and everyone else.

CSS – The logical standard

CSS is the latest way to add styles and layout to web pages.

Traditionally a web site would be designed with all the styles and layout determined within the html.

So if you wanted to change the colour of one piece of text on every page then it would be very time consuming to manually recode all the text to display in a certain way.

Web at 600mph

It has been announced that the CAA has approved the use of Mobile phones whilst in flight over the European continent.

It has been thought that mobiles phones can interfere with equipment on planes, hospital apparatus and may cause an explosion if used at a petrol station.
Most of which have been disproved, mobiles may affect some older hospital equipment, but it is highly unlikely. (more…)

Web privacy

Using the web is like talking to a friend, only you’re talking really loud in a crowded area.

The other day I was browsing the web when I decided I would treat myself to a CD from www.amazon.co.uk.
So I typed in the URL and went to the home page, something strange then happened, the ‘Recommended products’ banner across the top of the page was displaying the things I own, it was like “Hey I have one of them, and that, and that, oh and one of them”.
