Xeikon, known for pioneering the first digital color presses, has entered a joint referral partnership program with RBCOR, LLC, a leading distributor of photopolymer printing plates, photopolymer plate processing equipment, and ancillary items. Through this partnership, RBCOR will offer its clients the next step in the move to digital printing by offering the Xeikon 3300 and Xeikon 3000 digital label color presses.

Xeikon, in turn, will be able to strengthen its position in the expanding digital labels and packaging market. The Xeikon 3300 represents a quantum leap in label print quality and offers true 1200 dpi at four bits per spot with a top speed of 63 feet per minute. It is an extremely fast digital color label press, particularly suited for short to medium print runs and just-in-time jobs. The Xeikon 3000 represents the entry-level counterpart of the Xeikon 3300.

The HP Indigo WS6000 has been introduced at this year’s Labelexpo Americas. It is driven by HP Indigo Labels and Packaging Server, powered by EskoArtwork’s Digital Front End. HP continues its tradition of offering a digital front end from EskoArtwork to meet the demanding color and throughput needs of the label and packaging market.

The HP Indigo Labels and Packaging Server is now available for users of all presses HP offers for the label and packaging market, including the HP Indigo WS4000, WS4050, WS4500, and WS6000 digital presses. This server gives HP Indigo customers enhanced abilities to increase shop floor productivity and elevate prepress capabilities for digital label production. EskoArtwork has collaborated with HP to deliver the HP Indigo Labels and Packaging Color Kit. This is a high-end color management solution that gives users the ability to quickly and cost-effectively match brand colors on proof and press, regardless of the print process.

Also on display at Labelexpo is the EskoArtwork PacVantage software and technology for digitally printed labels. Converters who prepare their jobs using EskoArtwork Software with PacVantage technology will be able to make color adjustments during the proofing stage.

Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group has formed a new partnership with Epson America, Inc. that makes the Kodak Prinergy Powerpack Workflow System available as a complementary solution for Epson’s new digital label press. The digital production of labels for cartons, bags, bottles, and other packaging materials will be enhanced by the Kodak Powerpack Software, which automates file processing, color management, imposition, and submission of JDF based information to the Epson digital label press.

The Kodak Prinergy Powerpack System is an open, end to end PDF workflow that will provide a comprehensive workflow solution for the Epson digital label press. It also brings a powerful set of features to the label market, including automated file processing using Kodak Prinergy Rules-Based Automation Software, dynamic step and repeat layout creation using the Prinergy System’s Packaging Layout Automation feature, an integrated Kodak Pandora Step-and-Repeat Software, and enhanced color management capabilities.

The Kodak Colorflow Software is fully integrated with the Kodak Prinergy Powerpack Workflow System to provide integrated color control throughout the production environment, allowing label converters to achieve a reliable color match from the original electronic file.
