Xerox Print Drivers Free Up IT Staff
October 13th, 2008 by RyanXerox introduced two print drivers earlier this year that earned a “Technological Innovation Award” from Industry Analysts, Inc., a market research firm specializing in office automation. The Xerox Global Print Driver and Mobile Express Driver were praised for simplifying printing management for IT departments and making it easier for workers to print from multiple locations.
The drivers support competitive printing devices as well as nearly all Xerox printers and multifunction printers – this played a key role in the award selection. Very little time is needed to set these drivers up thanks to Xerox’s seamless process. With the Xerox Global Print Driver, IT administrators do no have to install specific drivers for every printer that they deploy, Therefore, installation and management are simplified and management costs are lowered.
The Global Print Driver supports both Xerox and non-Xerox networked products that use standard PostScript, PCL 5 and PCL 6. The Xerox Mobile Express lets mobile workers in a large campus or on the road print to any available printer or multifunction printer on a network – whether it’s a Xerox printer or not. To use it, users simply plug into a network, pull up the intuitive pop-up print screen that automatically identifies all available printers on the network, pick a printer, and click “print.”
