100 A3 Posters £75.00Roll up banners from £49.95

What is foamex? What is foamcore?

April 25th, 2008 by David Davies

When ordering posters etc. to be mounted onto rigid board, be careful to communicate carefully with your provider to make certain that they know what you want.

Foamex is a brand name for an expanded vinyl which is used as a durable rigid backing for posters. Foamcore is a less durable product made of a layer of very soft foam sandwiched between two layers of card.

Sounds easy? But then Foam-X is a brand name of a different version of Foamcore, and Foamalux is a brand name of a different version of Foamex. And there are plenty more confusing brand names around.

As always - there is no substitute for careful communication. Don’t be afraid to talk to your print provider to make sure of getting the job right first time.
