everydayprint motivation boards inspire Sharks stars

To succeed in top level sport, a strong psychological approach is required and with the new rugby season now underway, everydayprint, is playing its part in helping reigning Guinness Premiership champions, Sale Sharks, maintain their winning mentality.
Over the summer, managing director, Jason Walker, was approached by Sale Sharks media and PR manager, Dave Swanton, to see if he could devise a format for a novel idea that coach, Kingsley Jones, had come up with. Jason explains: “With motivation and psychology playing such a big part in professional sport, Kingsley hit on the idea of finding some inspiring lines and using them in motivational boards to be positioned in the players’ corridor at Edgeley Park.
“Having consulted with Kingsley along the way, we came up with some designs that used the motivational lines and featured Sharks players in typically dynamic action to reflect them.”
The lines used include one from John L Lewis, the United Mineworkers Union president, declaring that: ‘Courage is the first of the human qualities because it is this which inspires all the others’. Another from Kingsley Jones himself reads; ‘Tenacity: winners succeed when the going gets tough’.
Kingsley is delighted with the results, commenting: “The aim of the boards is to help further inspire and motivate the players once they have been prepared by Philippe St Andre and myself. White the game may not have started yet, those seconds as they walk from the dressing room to the tunnel and out onto the pitch are vitally important.
“The mental approach is huge in rugby and we want our players to stay completely focused on the physical and mental challenge ahead. We believe the boards will help achieve that and we’re delighted with the designs that the everydayprint team have come up with.
Jason concludes: “As a fan, I’m delighted to be helping the side in this way and if the Sharks are crowned champions again at the end of the season, I’ll afford myself a smile and hope that we have played a small part in that success.
