WYSIWYG? No chance!
December 17th, 2007 by Frank HicklinWYSIWYG - an acronym for What You See Is What You Get, was a term coined in the early 1980’s when desktop publishing was in development and in my opinion it still is!
The truth of the matter is, what you see on your computer screen is not what you get, especially when producing artwork for any sort of commercial printing. When printing to your desktop printer you are probably working in an RGB mode (Red, Green, Blue) as that is how most ‘domestic’ and ‘low-end’ ‘desk-top’ printers are configured. In the commercial world of high resolution digital print, CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) is king.
