Everydayprint staff get their ‘five a day’ for free!

February 27th, 2008

If staff at Macclesfield print and business solutions specialist, Everydayprint, have a healthy glow about them these days, it’s probably got something to do with going to work.

Since the turn of the year, managing director, Jason Walker, has introduced a policy of having bowls of fruit placed in every area of the company’s new Lyme Green Business Park offices, with staff invited to take as many pieces as they like every day.  He explains:  “As with a number of our team, I’ve been trying to lead a healthier lifestyle after all the typical Christmas excesses.

“From walking or going to the gym to salsa dancing or playing rugby, everyone has their own thing.  For my part, I’ve also been sticking to a better diet and part of that new regime has seen me eating more fruit.

“I brought a fruit bowl into my office and topped it up every day with apples, bananas, oranges and grapes.  Soon people started taking the odd piece for themselves, so I had the idea of introducing fruit right across the office so everyone could help themselves and hopefully benefit from it in the longer term.  That said, I never thought the idea would be so popular and we’re now taking delivery of two huge trays of fresh fruit a week.”

The company already looks after its staff by offering complimentary gym membership as well as supplying everybody with free flu jabs each winter and as Jason says, the overall approach has a more practical advantage as well:  “It’s all about health and well-being and already we’ve noticed that people are brighter and have more of a spring in their step.

“Whether that’s just a mental thing or not, the office genuinely seems to be a healthier place these days and I firmly believe that if people feel good day for day it will only be good for business as well.”

Former Shark swims into Everyday waters

January 30th, 2008

Everybody at Lyme House is delighted to welcome former Sale Sharks flanker, John Carter, to the Everydayprint team after he joined as a new sales and marketing executive.

John (26) has come on board with a brief to secure new business and will also help to develop the company’s ongoing sales and marketing strategy.

After retiring from professional rugby union following several unsuccessful operations on a long-standing shoulder injury, John is now looking to forge an alternative career, making use of both his academic qualifications and his keen eye for business.

With a Masters in International Business, as well as a degree in geography and archaeology, John has been planning his next move since hearing the news that he would have to end his rugby career – at least for the time-being – early last year. He explains: “The people at Sale Sharks have been very good with me, saying that if after taking time out, I can come back and prove my fitness, there will be a place for me at Edgeley Park.

“The plan now though, is to look at an alternative career and develop my marketing skills further in a growing business.  I’m delighted to have been afforded me this opportunity with Everydayprint and to find myself in such a lively, creative environment is great for me.”

Having recently left our Adlington base for new larger premises the company is gearing up for another momentous year. As Jason explains, John can now play a key role in establishing the business as the region’s number one print provider: “We have always prided ourselves on great quality at excellent prices but we know that everybody offers that now so we have to differentiate. I firmly believe that customer service and having the right people offering appropriate advice to help our corporate clients’ businesses is key to what we’re trying to achieve.

“It was a tragedy for John that his rugby career was cut short just as he was establishing himself as a key member of the Sale Sharks team but already the determination and positive attitude he developed as a player is coming through here.

“With his accomplished academic background and his obvious talent for building effective relationships, I’m sure he will quickly settle into the Everydayprint team and become an important part of our expanding operation.”
