Steve Hanley – 10 great years with the Sharks!

April 15th, 2008

As many of you will know, Everydayprint is proud to be the preferred print partner of Sale Sharks RFU Club.  Over and above that association comes a more personal relationship with one of the club’s longest serving and most successful players of all time, flying winger Steve ‘Stan’ Hanley.

Recognised by many in the game as the finest try scorer the Guinness Premiership has ever seen, Stan arrived at the club’s original home at Heywood Road, with a reputation for pace, strength and power that could, on its day see him run amok against lesser opposition. However, through the last decade, no player at any club in top flight rugby has matched Stan’s try-scoring exploits.

Throughout his career at Heywood Road and more latterly at Edgeley Park, Stan’s tries have come at a rate of one every 1.8 games – a record that will certainly take some beating in the future. Having also made a try-scoring debut for England against Wales as a raw 19 year-old back in 1999, Stan’s career has been awash with accolades and trophies and only cruel luck with injury in recent years has robbed him of even greater success.

Under the inspirational auspices of coaches, Steve Diamond, Jim Mallender and John Mitchell, Steve’s game continued progressing at Sale with defences everywhere never able to rest against the threat of a man-mountain blessed with tremendous balance, incredible acceleration and immense strength.

Those attributes have served him and Sale Sharks well over the years and caused Everydayprint’s Jason Walker to dig deep into his corporate pockets to sponsor the flying Cumbrian.  Jason explains: “Being a Sale Sharks fan is one thing but I’m also a genuine rugby fan as well and I’d like to think that I can recognise greatness when I see it.

“Steve is an absolute legend at Sale Sharks and on top of that, it has been my privilege to get to know him on a personal level and I can say without hesitation that is an even greater privilege to now find myself serving as the Chairman of his testimonial committee.

“I am delighted to count myself as a friend of Stan and on a corporate level, while he may not be playing as regularly as we’d all like due to the various injuries he has picked up over the years, he has never been selfish with his time and has always made himself available to come along and support our various fundraising and awareness-building activities.

“For that I will always be grateful and I’m sire that my colleagues and I will make this a year to remember for a great player and a true gentleman of the game.”

Mel adds to the team at Everydayprint

April 15th, 2008

Macclesfield-based digital print specialist and business solutions provider, Everydayprint has appointed Hazel Grove girl, Mel Maksymuk as a new account manager.

Having previously worked in a similar role with Stanley Green-based B&P Screenprint, Mel (26) arrives at Everydayprint with a brief to work alongside senior account manager, Jamie Brelsford to help grow the business as the company gears up for further expansion following its move to the Lyme Green Business Park earlier this year.

Looking forward to her new role Mel, comments: “I’m delighted to have joined a company with such a dynamic and refreshing approach to print and indeed to business in general.

“Having already benefited from a comprehensive grounding in print account management, it has been great for me to come to Everydayprint and experience a different approach in a fresh, dynamic environment.

“The breadth of the products and services on offer here is exceptional and with a distinct emphasis being placed on service and account development, I’m looking forward to extending my experience and to growing with what is a highly ambitious organisation.”

Everydayprint managing director, Jason Walker, is equally pleased to welcome Mel on board, adding: “We’ve been looking for the right person to come in and work with Jamie for some time and everyone here was delighted when Mel agreed to come on board.

“Already, Mel is demonstrating a keen eye for quality and is working with Jamie to help build effective relationships with key account contacts.  The biggest compliment I can pay her is that although she’s only been with us a few short weeks, it’s as though she has been with us for much longer and already many clients are commenting on the attributes she brings to our business.  I’m sure Mel will prove to be a great asset as we look to take the business forward this year.

Away from the office, Mel enjoys shopping, socialising with friends and has a keen interest in cars, attending as many shows as she can around the country.

Open Day success!

March 23rd, 2008

When Everydayprint moved from its home of three years at the Adlington Business Park to more salubrious surroundings at Lyme House on Macclesfield’s Lyme Green Business Park, managing director, Jason Walker immediately saw the need to give clients and prospects alike a flavour of what has been happening at the company in recent months.

Not even high winds and heavy showers could prevent almost 100 guests from flowing through the doors of both a specially erected marquee and the offices themselves, where the mix of new machines and facilities were on show.

With plenty of drink and superb food on offer through the day as well as appearances from several stars from Sale Sharks RFU Club in the afternoon, there was something for everyone and as Jason comments, the day was a huge success: “Much as the weather didn’t help and we had a hard time of it putting the marquee up in gale force winds, all the effort was well worth it and I’m delighted with the way it went.

“The day gave us a chance to let people know what Everydayprint is all about and in addition to my giving a short presentation to tell people what we’ve been up to in recent months and why we’ve made this move, we were also able to throw our doors open and let people see the capacity for different kinds of work we are now capable of producing.”

In addition to being housed in expansive, prestigious offices which are far more conducive to a productive working environment, the sheer practicality of having a sizeable print room and plenty of space for further expansion were major plus points when new premises were sought. Jason explains:  “We’re still a relatively young company and have grown at a phenomenal rate over the last two or three years.

“Quite apart from our growing reputation for high quality work, part of the reason for that growth has been that we have listened to our clients and responded by adding to our product and service portfolio. That has meant the acquisition of new equipment including a large format printer in early 2007 and as that expansion of services has continued, we’ve needed more space.

“However, it was important for us to not just have enough room for us to operate in now but rather to have sufficient capacity to facilitate further growth in the future. With plans in place for further investment in both staff and machinery, we now have that and in hosting the open day, we wanted to demonstrate to our clients and prospects that we are not just a credible print provider but that we offer additional value added services as well.”

Much as the day was a clear success, Jason is at pains to point out that lessons can always be learned.  He continues: “If there’s anything I’d do differently, it would be to have more examples of our work on show. We’re immensely proud of what we do and how we go about it at Everydayprint and maybe we could have had some more examples of the work we’re capable of producing on show to give people who perhaps don’t now us a greater insight into what we do? We’re looking at having another similar event next year and having listened to the comments of our guests that would be something we would look at doing next time.

“However, all in all, it was a superb day and I’d like to thank everyone in the Everydayprint team for their unstinting efforts in pulling things together and hosting what was a very successful event. Much as everyone was a credit to the company on the say, a special mention should go to our office manager, Julia Revington, without whose organisational skills, we’d never have been able to pull it off.”

Internal Account Manager

March 17th, 2008

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the rapidly expanding team at everydayprint.

With good opportunities for further advancement, the Account Manager would have the day to day responsibility of ensuring our key accounts are serviced from the estimate stage, managing the project through production stages and ensuring that customer deadlines and expectations are matched, or exceeded.
