Turning over a new leaf with environment friendly paper
December 18th, 2007 by Rob GaskellThe WWF has launched a guide which aims to help businesses source environmentally friendly paper. The guide includes a scorecard which helps paper buyers to evaluate the environmental impact of their choices and can be used for purchasing office paper to packaging.
With 1 million tonnes of paper used every day, the aim of the new guide is to reduce the negative impact of paper production and manufacture on the environment looking at issues such as forest management, CO2 emissions, pollution from chlorinated compounds and waste. Buyers can then work with suppliers and manufacturers to improve their score across all parameters.
As a printer, everydayprint takes our environmental responsibility seriously. We already offer high quality recycled paper to some of our clients and in the new year we will be making this greener option available to everyone via our website.
